In a large pot, bring four cups of water to a boil. Add two cups of dried white beans and reduce the heat to low. Let the beans simmer for about two hours or until tender. Drain the beans and set them aside. In a separate pan, melt two tablespoons of butter. Add a half cup of chopped onion and a minced garlic clove. Sauté the vegetables until the onion is translucent. Add a teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of paprika.
